Hi all just looking for some advice, I looking at replacing my head on my 2.0 pinto, iv been offered a 1.8 head so I wanted to no will this be a straight swap?
Cheers

It will physically fit, but its got smaller valves, ports and combustion chamber

also the valves are longer to suit the different geometry (pinto valve/rocker geometry is quite complicated)

so I'd avoid using the 1.8 head - in standard form it will limit your power and it'll make future mods more complex

You can fir the Cossie YB head if you want something different...

yeah, but you need new manifolds as well as the cossie pulleys, cossie tensioners and pistons (which need cossie rods) to suit
so you might as well go the whole hog and fit the cossie crank too (which needs a cossie flywheel)

and if your going to go to all that effort then you'll need some bigger / half decent carbs or fuel injection to run it on and a stronger gearbox to handle the power - like the cossie T5 box

and if your going to run it NA instead of turbo'd then you'll want some better cam's and followers too...

and by the time you've fitted all that to the pinto block you'd have been cheaper buying a complete cossie engine.....

(trust me I know )

I think you forgot the raised top pistons for the NA setup...

trust me, I know too :-) or you can ask my empty wallet....
