Hi all
Hope everyone is finally enjoying the weather in their cars!
I'm looking to make a new silencer for mine (GSXR 1000 Tiger Avon) as it is way too loud.
The current design is a straight through perforated tube with fibreglass wool inside and I don't think it is absorbing much sound.
I can make the silencer longer (as I'm going to remove the cat now the IVA is done) but I was wondering about putting a restrictor half way
through the perf tube to force the gas into the wool. Does anyone have any advice on making a silencer? I'm thinking that if I remove the cat a
bit of back pressure from a restrictor wouldn't make much difference?
Also does anyone know of a place I can buy 6" or 7" stainless tube and/or spun end caps from?
Cheers
Ben

I've found this one useful
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/MIJ-EXHAUST
They have a web site as well. They sell universal parts that can make up an exhaust system. I bought a weld in 6" x 24" stainless silencer
and used it to build my system, very quiet and good bit of kit that cost about £50
Thanks
Will give them a call
