which bike carbs?
scotty g - 9/10/16 at 12:55 PM

Hi all, I'm currently running a 1.8 silvertop Zetec through a downdraft Weber twin choke carb and a X-Flow manifold with the spark coming from a standard Ford CVH Edis module system. It all works pretty well but im chasing a bit more power so I have a pair of zetec 2.0 cams on order and plan on going bike carbs so my question is what size carbs would you lovely people recommend, 600cc, 750cc or 1000cc?
Also any suggestions on what brand?
Cheers guys. Scott.

ZX9R 40mm.

I had them on my 1.8 with 2.0 cams and after a tune at Bogg Brothers all was well including decent mpg..

Very nice. Did you just send off the whole thing and how much did they charge you matey?

You need to take the car as they use the rolling road to set them up.

It was a long time ago and if I remember rightly it was £80 for the setup.

Your using an EDIS module on its own? If EDIS and not ESC your timing with be fixed at 19deg.
This needs ti be sorted before you change carbs :-) you'll gain loads of power!

I run zx9r carbs on my 1.8 blacktop and runs sweet.

ZX6 carbs work really well on a Zetec. I've got them on my 2.0. On a modified engine the bigger ZX9 carbs might give some more power but on a standard car they will be pretty much the same. The ZX6 carbs have the advantage of an adjustable needle, which I think the ZX9s don't have.

I run mine with a Megajolt & Ford EDIS.
