Hi all, am i right in thinking that the Pontiac Firebird engine is a Chevy unit?
I'm sure i read somewhere that Pontiac is part of GM.

Pontiac is a part of GM. But then, so is Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, and many more.

Depends on the year, up until the 80's Pontiac had their own engines, do you know the cubic engine size? 321 400 455, Chevy's 350 396 427 454. Pontiac used a single overhead version of the 67 Chev inline 6 cylinder, Chev was overhead pushrod, 67-68 only

I would guess its a mid eighties job by the look of it.
Its an accident damaged car at my local auction, all the running gear looks in perfect order and the engine has nice shiny chromed rocker covers, big shiny air filter on top etc etc. Think its the 350Cu but to be honest V8s aren't my thing at all

here it is

Current bidding is at £150.00.
If i was building something with a V8 i'd be tempted.
