insurance and club

has anyone found out how much insurance discount you get by being a member of a club?

do they check up if the club exists and/or you are a member and if you need to claim, do they chdk then?

I reckon it is a con but ......

The amount of discount will vary so much its not going to be possible to quote a figure.
I get my insurace through Chris Knott who specialise with people in car clubs. They took my club membership numbers. Aparantly they do check if there's a claim. Not sure if they bother checking before that though.

We get about 3 a month getting in touch to confirm with the Locost Car Club out of around 500 insurance discounts, so most don't check, but I'm sure they'd try to use it as a "get out clause" if you claimed!

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
