Cheers guys. Nearly went old school and got some Minilite replicas but these caught my eye and got the set for £225 which I thought was pretty good.
They are a bit bling but the flash makes them look more polished that they are
Bodywork to be bought next.....what colour is the next big problem !
Edit to say - that and finding the cash !

They are 6.5" width and I weighed one at 9kg. I have no idea if that is good or bad.
They feel pretty light compared to the TSW wheels I had to roll the MK around on but one of those has previously had an argument with a kerb and is
way out of shape.
I got them from www.dotz-alloys.co.uk which is actually potn.com. Good service, delivered in 2 days.

they look very nice
mind to get tyres that actually are proud of the rims so they don't get scuffed by curbs. Too many alloys are fitted with the wrong profile
tyres that make the wheels very easily damaged
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

I was originally looking to stick to 185s but think with these at 6.5" I will go up to 195 width. Don't want to go too low profile so I
guess 195 50 15 or as near as.
Off to the tyre place tomorrow to get some prices.

I quite fancied some Toyos as they always seem to get good reviews. Just seen these. If I can get the for a similar price locally I might go for
them.

9kg is a bit on the heavy side for a 6.5" wide 15" rim, a 7" wide 15" team dynamics pro race 1 comes in at 6kgs,and a OZ super
leg..at 5kgs

Mmm looks a bit heavy having done a search. I weighed it quickly on a set of bathroom scales so might have to do that again to double check.
Didn't exactly pay for lightweight wheels so not too bothered.

Its a light car and no doubt will do low annual mileage. Fit soft trackday tyres - Toyo R888 would be great but for an all round road tyre the
Marangoni Zeta Linea in the common (so cheap) 195/50/15 size

I had those tyres on mine, changed them for 888's,made a masive difference, deffinately worth the extra cost IMO

to be honest (and I'll get slated for this) I don't really think that 9kg per corner instead of 6kg per corner will make a lot of
difference. If you have an unlimited or large budget or you're going racing then you can shave a few kg's at high cost.
These are some really nice wheels and with some 40 quid Proxes will make a nice sub 400 quid wheel/tyre combination.

Cheers mate. I won;t be slating you ! I'm sure the R888s are fantastic tyres but I can't justify the more than double the price tag.
