suggestion!

Just a suggestion but would it be a good idea for a place to be set up where we can see a list of user names catagorised by engine type / kit building / irs or live axle/ etc possibly so it can be searched by the above catagories?

So for example im building a CBR1000 car and im sure i will need a fair bit of guidance on the engine side of things so i could search by engine type to find all the members who are using CBR power and so on.

Obviously eveyone would need to fill in a form detailing what engine/kit etc they are building /driving to enable the data to be gathered.

If you want to be a tight git and not help people out with poteintial problems then simply dont fill the form in or maybe have 'tight twat' option on the form that goes out and this bins their response once submitted back to Chris?

Just a thought

Yes i know its another one!

Sounds like a good idea to me, i'm planning on upgrading my engine soon so it would definitely be useful to know who has used what engine so I could contact people for opinions/advice.

Not sure how easy it would be from Chris' side though!

makes it more clandestine IMHO, you could just post and ask for help, or search the archives

I think, sniff, this is a bad idea, sniff.

This would mean, sniff, that me and my "iccle injin", sniff, would be all on our own.

Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo

Notwithstanding the argument for minimal formfilling and the recent discussions about new members with little of no information etc:
How about if this was another category to be entered on your profile.
Then, if you were able to persuade the Webmiester,Chris, to make more of the categories sortable in the Member list,
you could then choose to look up members by Engine, Building, Location etc?

I could go though all members and make a list up. only problem is, (...apart from taking 2 years to make) who's going to update the list when new members join???

if we got 10 willing members im sure we could split the photo archive up between us ie A-C etc etc and have it done pretty sharpish.

But as you say it would need updating with every new member.

Yeah but then people would go and change their user names.

Why not give users more than just a building space below there user name, like 'built' as well as building.
