HardLine Tube
Seen some of the old posts on petrol pipes, and I know a lot of people use copper microbore.
But has any one used hardline tubing from James Lister motorsport.
They do a 3/8 version that can be bent by hand any body used it. Iam looking to run it on a V8.

Ours is 10mm also bent by hand!
Wickes... IIRC £16 for 5m.
We have some left if you are interested!

I am new to this game and not up with the jargon yet, what does Wicks IIRC mean I assume it,s the company but the only Wicks I know is the DIY
store.

We too are going to be running a V8 but it's a Vitesse motor with EFI so our requirements may be slightly different.
Can you give me details on this hardline stuff?
Also I've seen a few places selling acetyl fuel hose unions, do people know if they are suitable for high pressure EFI plumbing?

I went to the local plumber supplies and it was about a £1 a metre, and u can get it in the lengths u want.
I got 3m and thats about enough.
Microbore that is...

Hate to throw a spanner in the works, but I'm sure I read somewhere that petrol and copper were not a good mix...
Could be wrong, and hope I am. but it seems to ring some bells...anyone else heard this?
(quick research on goggle...)

I did some research a while ago - well, I used Google a bit - and found out that there is a potential problem if you use petrol with a high sulphur
content. This can form a copper sulphate sludge that bungs up the works.
However, the only place you'll petrol that bad is in 3rd-world countries, as the level has to be way above the usual petrol standards (RON,
etc.) to cause problems.
This came from some petrol company's web site...

P.S. I'd be more worried about some pipe that I saw someone buy at a show last year - this was aluminium pipe with a plastic coating - knowing
how aluminium work hardens... hell, it even age hardens!

No problems with copper pipe for 3 years. 8mm microbore and 3/16" return pipe.

If you give James lister Motorsport a ring on 0121 525 5800 they will send you a catalogue foc.
Hardline is alumunium pipe coated with polymide you can run fuel,oil etc a lot of rally boys use it and say it,s very good you can get it in various
sizes.up to 3/4 inch. previous post said it's about £16 a length.
