Don't laugh....ran my own foot over!!

As above, went out today in the Luego, not been for a while so the battery was struggling a bit to start it up.....went to get some petrol, wouldn't start - battery too low.

Thought - 'I'll bump start it myself' - got it pushed up to a good speed, went to jump in and caught my right ankle under the back wheel and heard a loud 'CRACK!!!'

Foot's OK (bit sore), but cracked the rear arch with my leg.

Jumpleads worked better, to be honest.....

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Cracked a bit at the lower edge, a chunk of gelcoat about the size of a 50p flew off. Don't think it will repair invisibly, might need to lay up a pair of carbon ones (that's what I told the missus anyway)

Fesy, get up off the floor man! (that's where I was earlier...)

Exactly same thing happened to me with VW Manx clone! I had other people pushing too and they didn't stop even after my foot got stuck under the rear wheel. First the shoe was worn through, then some skin... Eventually they stopped pushing and asked why the heck I'm shouting.

The moment you are jumping to the drivers seat the rear wheel catches the other foot.

Whilst I've not broken anything yet, having no reverse means I push my car from time to time. And I have run my own foot over more than a few times before.

I wish I had a pound for every time I have run over my foot with the rear wheel whilst pushing the car out of the garage.

Cant say ive quite done that, but having taken to rolling the car out of the trailer with me outside it, taking the hand brake off, rocking it over the cill, and then leaning over to catch it on the handbrake before it over runs into the people carrier, i can see something going wrong at some point!

<snigger>

I've done something vaguely similar - I push my car in and out of my garage, and one day I was pushing it in, and managed to get my toes under the back wheel. It was a case of 'keep pushing' as it would have taken longer to push it back than to keep pushing it forward.

Fortunately it was the back wheel, so I only ended up with slightly sore toes, and no bruising!
