Bosch free car handling software

I found this on the Bosch site. It's a fully functional car handling simulation. You enter all your car's data, pick a race track, and it does it's best to calculate a lap time. Pretty cool, but you will need a lot of your car's design specs. The big unknown for me, and which makes a big difference, is what value you put in for the tire "stick" coefficient...

Have fun.

Thanks for the link.
That is *some* toy! As soon as anyone gets a file of vehicle parameters for a Blade engined MK Indy punched in please let me know!!
I'm off to play with it. If I make any progress I'll let you all know.

I've attempted to knock up a file for an MK Indy Blade. It's a first attempt, so it's not accurate, but anyhow

What's important?

According to Bosch that is.

It looks as if many of you have already had a go with this. Apart from the obvious such as engine power and weight are there any interesting things comming out of the Bosch program?

Bosch Software
Using my Blade engined 450kg Seven setup 55% front/rear weight balance.

Around Donington GP circuit without LSD
1:43:27

with 25% LSD and 10N/mm pre-slip (?)
1:42.11

without LSD, with 10N/mm front anti-roll bar only
1:42.49

without LSD, with 10N/mm rear anti-roll bar only
1:44:21

with 25% LSD and 10N/mm pre-slip and with 10N/mm front anti-roll bar only
1:41.33

These are interesting enough, however IMHO, I wouldn't use these as a basis for running out an buying addons for the car! That said they seem to support the obvious enough notion that if you want to go racing it would be beneficial to get an LSD a front anti-roll bar. Interesting to play with but I wouldn't put a lot of faith in them - the model just isn't accurate enough, and I have no easy way of verifying it.
