Fuel tank breathers
I currently have a one way tank breather on my fuel tank from when my carbs were fitted.
I presume this will need to be replaced with a 2 way valve as I now have a return to the tank.
Anyone know wheres the cheapest place to get them from? Or alternative suggestions...?
Cheers,
David

I bought mine from Think Auto - it's where all the other suppliers buy theirs from! (i.e. the MOCAL
brand).
Except Think Auto don't mark up their prices...

Why?
The return is just pushing back less fuel than is being taken so its still negative pressure.
I just have a one way valve on my breather with no issues.

Yup. But it certainly appears to be a one-way valve...

I have it now, and it would seem to allow a small amount of air back in. I also have one of those from ThinkAuto, and that one seems to let slightly
more air back in.
Either way, is everyones tank (including all fittings etc) all 100% leak proof if upside down?

What size of hoses fit on the EDS breather valve?

Trials bike breather, cheap as chips and no leaks if upside down.

I asked EDS the same, they said,
"It is made for 8mm, but 10mm will still clamp up enough for the use in which these are intended for F2's. I can supply in 6mm
also."
Hope this helps...

Twybrow,
Thanks for the reply - I think I will place an order for 1.

Thats what I have now, its only one way though. Ill run with it and see what happens.
Thinking about it, I think all that will happen is fuel will not be able to return quickly from the swirl pot (ie air is trying to be pushed out of
the breather rather than be sucked in the way its designed to), which shouldnt actually cause any problems because its just fed by a low pressure carb
pump with a restrictor in the return line anyway...
