Around Rushden, Northants we have up to 6 inches of standing snow on the main roads and side roads. Most of the problems are being caused by people
who THINK they have the skills necessary to dive in these conditions.
Also there are total plonkers around who THINK they are better than anyone else. To, whit, the DPD van driver (Becky if you read this please make my
feelings known to all your drivers) who thought that 15 - 20 mph down hill in a built up area (Newton road near the council yard) was not fast enough
and over-took me. I hope he spends the rest of the week stuck in a
ditch.
There are not enough words to describe this kind of poor driving standards.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Slowest vehicle I came across this morning....Landrover Disco... 10mph!
Its pretty bad out there, even on the main roads. Apparently lots of stuck lorries adding to the chaos too.
Was good fun driving into work this morning

yip snows started up again in Aberdeen, out at my work theres about 4 inchs on the ground, should have stayed in bed as heaps are off today

I couldn't get home on Tuesday, so not even bothering to venture out this morning.
Driving up a hill the tw@t in front decides he's going to crawl up it, then realises he can't make it.
He stops, I try to go around him and then the muppet does a 3 point turn on the hill 
Cue a big line of stuck traffic 
My car is RWD, mega torque and with an empty tank of juice I have no traction, I can drive in the snow, it's the other cocks worry me, who think
opposite lock is something fitted to their back door

Had the misfortune to watch some woman in an old merc sliding down an icy hill the other day. Luckily she knew the textbook solution to recover
control in this situation - keep foot firmly on the brake to ensure all wheels remain locked, and constantly turn the wheel from lock to lock...

my gf being Polish was asking if reports on the news about our problems were true,when i said yes,she roared with laughter,we are the laughing stock
of the rest of europe

Just saying goodbye to my wife after clearing car. My attention was drawn to an Audi convertible driving backwards in reverse at speed in the snow.
Needless to say, he got it wrong, hit the car next to my wifes, then drove off - YR58 MHN you were seen and will be reported.

Just started now in Leeds.
Tuesday was "fun". I had no problem getting to work (4wd Scooby did well even with fat directional tyres) but some of the driving around
was silly. Pick of the day, I was heading for a 90 degree bend on snow/slush covered road, at a speed I knew I could get round. In mirror
there's a Peugeot 107 catching me up. Gets round the corner with a tiny twitch of predictable understeer then watches the mirror with interest.
107 ploughs straight on into kerb and suspension collapses underneath!
It's basic physics, not rocket science!

To be fair they can laugh all they want.
If our councils did spend millions on the kind of infrastructure required to keep things going in situations like this, it'd be sat in a yard
for another 10 years unused and the whole country would be up in arms at what a waste of money it was and how it would have been better spent on
schools/hospitals etc.

I see no ships! was the cry and the same goes for snow... not exactly spring here but if the fog clears off i reckon we're in for a nice dry

tho being honest, i WANT it to snow, gonna hitch up my team of huskys again, he he you should see the look on faces of the drivers i pass as they get
stuck
i get the usually comments like, "hey get your dogs to pull me out please" i just wave and smile

Took me 3 hours to get down the A10 from Kings Lyn to Milton.
Started at 5:45 in hard snow. By Ely you could see road surface and it was raining.
Slowed by a Volvo parked up a bank and stopped for 10mins while they pulled a wagon out of a ditch.
Had two buttock clenching moments, one where I lost the back end on a roundabout at 5mph and another when the back end just decided to do a
tankslapper while I was bimbling along at 20 in a straight line - no idea what caused it, but caught both no real problems.

aha its just started snowing here in north east, getting dogs harnesses at the ready
i can do 8 miles in 19 mins with a team of 4 dogs, tho i,ve got a few spare dogs so might hitch another 2 dogs into the team & start my own
"bus" service, lol

i used my gaylander which was getting me to work, slowly but wasn;t going to get stuck. After 1.5 hours and 14 miles under my belt and only 3 miles
from motorway (35miles to do on motorway), massive long line of traffic on dual carriage way to motorway. I had no radio and had no idea if the road
was closed, slow or motorway was knackered, so i turned round and went home. Work have been snotty with me, but there was no way i was going to fight
it to work for 3 hours, only then to have to try and get home again at sometime. My car is capable, but the some others cars/drivers aren't and
they block the road for everyone else. On the way home a beemer in front decided it was best to try and get up the hill at a snails pace, he slowly
lost traction and got stuck sideways, result:- long line of traffic stuck on a hill!!!

started snowing at about 10pm last night here in south Wales, still snowing now!
I'm on afternoons so I'll probably make it out later.
