Attaching a camera to a 2" rollbar
I want to attach an old camera to my rollbar but am stumped on how to do it.
1, must not damage the rollbar
2, would the standard tripod screw mount be strong enough?
3, I don't want to go the the expense of bullet cams etc
Has anyone got any pickies on how they did theirs?
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Use a 2" exhaust clamp and piece of flat bar?
More pics HERE, but they don't show the clamp that well as I wasn't
taking the photos for just that purpose, sorry!

You could put a piece of ally between the 2 seats using the seat belt mounts.
That would only work if the camera is then higher than the rear view mirror.

I also used a home built bracket based on an exhaust clamp.
Sorry, don't have any pictures of it.

You can make a simple mount of a piece of timber  Agricultural stylee. Cut out a 2" circle in some 2" by 4" of approx length, cut
a slot, put a bolt to clamp the slot closed etc etc....

Mark,
Here's min made from some 2mm ally bent round the form of the tube, lined with some velcro on the inside.
The camera attachment rivetted on a support.
The whole assembly velcros around the tube.
Survived many sessions with no problems.

they can sell you anything from a mount to a whole recording system.
i have the Small roll bar mount and it fits a 50mm roll bar

What stops the mount rotating on the bar?

Friction.
There is a fair amount of resistance when the straps are pulled tight.
I use mine with a bullet cam so there isn't a great deal of torque.
Its suitability for your setup depends on the mass and position of the c.o.g of your camera.
The friction could be increased by using a soft rubber lining.

bit of square plate, with a hole in the middle for a 1/4 bolt for the camera, then 2 exhaust clamps.....
less than an hour in the workshop
