New Smart Car Project
Hi guys,
Since my last A series powered Smart success, I've decided to build another one, this time a bike engined version. As I'm on a very tight
budget, what would you suggest the best engine could be? To be safe, an R1 or GSXR lumps are first choice, but I like the Suzuki TL 1000R v twin or
similar v twins/4's. Ultimate power isn't what I need, so anything pushing over 130bhp would suit. I will be lightening the car down to
offset the PTWR. I like the ZX900R engine as well. Any good?
Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Nice idea. I thought a Smart Roadster with a GSX / ZZR in it would be fun.
Seen these guys mentioned on a few forums:
Clicky
If you're thinking about the Coupe, have a look on Youtube - a guy posted a video of a 'busa in a Coupe, IIRC. The wheelspin was
tremendous!

old ZX10 or ZZR1100, can't beat it for bangs per buck so if you're on a tight budget it's ideal
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Good luck with it.
I'm sure you'll be ok as you've done it before but if you need any advice or technical info then feel free to ask as I used to be a
Diagnostic tech for a smart dealer.
Mark.
