Indicators

Hi guys,

Just in the process of wiring up my indicators. I have the passenger side finished but I have a bit of a problem. The indicators are flashing too quickly, the way they would flash in a tintop with a bulb out! What have I done wrong and how can I fix it!?

Thanks,
Paul

It's probably the wattage of your bulbs. They should be 21 watts. This thread says a bit more about it.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Are you using LED lights?

I had to wire a resistor in to get over the flashing too quick problem with my led rear lights.

You can use an electronic relay if your indicators are low wattage / using LED's. £7.50 from Car Builder Solutions if my memery is on form.

Cheers for all the replies guys! Got it sorted in the end after reading the thread linked by mistergrumpy - the bike indicators had 10watt bulbs in them, an easy change to 21watt bulbs and it was sorted!

Just dip and main beam to go and thats the wiring completed thankfully!

Oh no they wont....

You need 21F 5S and 21R. Any less than 47W and they will flash quickly.

Hellfire's right, they didn't work with both sides wired up as that was done before I changed the bulbs in the front from 10w to 21w!

You really do end up with an awful amount of wires behind the dash, especially using savage switches! Going to take a night making sure all the wires are tidy and secure!
