Can you mix and match like the Sierra diffs? I.e. - can you make a 3.54 lsd or am I being a total numpty (most likely)....?

Yeah, the bog-standard mk2 escort diffs can be mixed and matched back to the MK1 cortina. But you need to make sure the cwp is set correctly and not set too far in or out. As with all diffs would cause whine on accelleration or lift off. Only exception is some RS diffs are not the same on mk2 escorts, I imagine on Mk1 RS's too.

Careful as wasn't the 3.54 only fitted in the mexicos and RS's?

Yeah, the 3.54 is the RS diff....Just looked under my car, and mine seems to be leaking oil at the point where the propshaft joins the diff.... Any ideas as I would think mr SVA will have an issue with that...!

3.54 was also fitted in al mk2 1600 ghias
along with rs halfshafts as there slightly diffrent

some mexicos inc all mk1 escorts had a 3.77 diff
