Flat Slide Carbs (Again!)

Would it be adviseable to replace a set of flat-slides for conventional carbs for SVA purpose?

Are flat slides any 'dirtier'?

As a general rule of thumb, they are likely to be "dirtier" than CVs, which will be dirtier than a modern injection system.

Reason #1, they are usually not a bespoke setup for your engine (i.e., normally they are replacing a set of Keihin or Mikuni CVs which were optimised by the OEM for the original powertrain), and may not have been set up properly.

Reason #2, the lack of a CV system means wide variations flow, so as you know they flow very well in the power band, but you can choke them with air or fuel depending on setup, load, etc.
