Bs**s....

Some one posted the other day about
What would you do if you found a thief breaking into your house...

Well I can tell you I would break his F****g neck and sod the consequences.

Whilst My wife was on holiday down here in France with me, we had a break in back home in the UK....

Apart from wrecking the house the main thing that went was the laptops.
It's not the machine, but what was on them....

6 months work on my wife's Open Uni coarse.
And all our pictures for the last 5 years or so.....

Chances of getting them back ????Zilch..

Realy realy Pi***d of at the mo..
Coz it means I got to come back to the UK to sort it out...

Sh1t - sorry to hear that.

Remember the post on here recently of the scumbags coming back for a second go. Would be worth sorting some different /additional security in case they come back for another go.

Sorry to hear about this m8.

I know the feeling. As I come from Greece to study at Uni, during summer i went back for holidays and kept all of my staff in "WELLOU Stirage".

Came back in order to look for a house and visited them to take my PC. A week later went back to get the rest of my staff and everything was gone.

Tv, HiFi, desks, 3 years of Uni notes. Everything that you need when you are a student and have your own house.

As always, cameras were not pointing at the lockers. The police looked at the cameras and said that description of the items were never seen leaving the warehouse but they didn't even bother opening up the rest of the lockers to check if they were still in there.

Hi Guys.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
And for the U2U's

An update on the robbery.
Seems they may have been disturbed.
Only got away with my wife's laptop and some cash.
A bit of damage getting in, but all in all not too bad.
I would still break their F*****g neck though....

At least I wont have to come back to the UK to sort it...

Just to echo a comment above. We had a break-in and all that went was the laptop - a few months later they came back and nicked the lot. Police said 2 reasons - one was that the first visit was a look-see and second that they come back to get all the new shiny stuff that has just been replaced on the insurance after the first one. We have now fitted an alarm.

Point taken Geoff..

Think I may get a very big dog.
Leave him there with no food whilst we are on holiday.
god help any uninvited visitors then

Was in Germany with work last October and got a phone call at midnight from a PC saying she was in my flat and it had been broken into.

All they left was furniture and clothes. Even my flatmates bed sheets to wrap things up in.

It was horrible having to spend the next day trying to work before flying home to a trashed flat.

Got a phone call from the police 2 weeks ago saying they had caught the person but of course nothing was recovered. That night they broke into 12 flats in our building but being fairly new flats only 4 were occupied.

Things can be replaced except of course 6 years worth of photos on my laptop and 5 years worth of uni work too.

Really feel for you.

David,

Having also lost a heap of digital photos and other files on a PC (although not stolen, still destroyed) I'm well aware of what you're feeling.

I now run off-site backups using Mozy (although there are plenty of others as well). Up to 2Gb of data is free, after that it's US$4.95/month. Cheap insurance.

Best regards,

Dominic
