From VOSA website:

quote:

Single Vehicle Approval Certificates, or to give them their correct name, Minister's Approval Certificates issued to Passenger cars, were originally to have a valid life until 31st October 2009. This date has now been extended until 31st December 2009. This will now be the last day on which a Minister's Approval Certificate for a Passenger car can be used for the purposes of registration and licensing of the vehicle.

Sorry to muddy the waters but I thought they were only valid for 6 months. They imposed an end date which initially was 6 months from the last test, which they have now moved in line with the last test.

But as usual I'm happy to be proved wrong

You might be confusing the SVA retest with the MAC certificate valid period.
