Using wheels that don't match

I'm building my car with a BMW drivetrain but sierra front uprights. (The BMW uprights were unsuitable) So I am going to have 5-stud wheels on the back and 4-stud at the front.

I've read throught the IVA manual and I can't find anything about wheels in it.

Does anyone know if it's ok the have differing wheels, as long as they match across each axle?

That will be fine. As long as tyre sizes and construction are matched on each axle the wheels are irrelevant.

The way i got round it sam was using the front uprights from an E46 3series. These uprights have a macpherson strut so with a custom insert ( i have dimensions if you want) they can be made to work with double wishbone suspension. And then you can keep the BMW wheels up front.

Hi Mikkel,

I was trying to use as much of the donor as possible, failing that i am going to revert to what's tried and tested already, so that's why I'm using sierra stuff up front.

Thanks for the idea though!
