Battery light denso alternator
Just changed to a small denso alternator 3 wire hook up, battery , ignition lamp and switched live.The battery light is staying on but the battery
is charging at 14.4 volt .The warning light is a bright 6 module,if i reconnect my original alternator the light goes out.
Anyone had the same problem with the warning light.

Due to the way the charge light output is wired up you need to fit a transistor.
It's been covered before, a search should bring it up

Do you need a transistor?
Havent done this myself yet, but will be when I change engines. I know mine has IG, L and S connections, but whats what I dont know!

Mine's still working fine with the transistor.
It seems unusual, but the alternator outputs a 12v signal to the charge light when stationary, but it is just a signal - there's no current
behind it to light a bulb / high power LED.
The transistor switches the LED on my acewell to earth when it gets the 12v signal so putting on the light.
