Mines out of a Metro & it just looks like a small push switch with a single terminal. WWhen the handbrake is raised it earths out.

small - 1" long plastic blocky thing - single wire to a spade connector, activates when the plastic shroud is lifted up when h/b is on -
I'll do you a photo tomorrow if I get chance.
Fastened with two small screws and a saddle bracket.

Another option is just to have a switch on the dash. As long as you can test the brake warning light, thats all they are interested in. (SVA might
wanna check to see if its changed for IVA)
Thats what i did, cos my escort handbrake didnt have a switch.

Hi Neil, I belive your car is already SVA'd but don't forget that as well as the handbrake warning light you can use the same circuit to
give you the low brake fluid warning as well by using the switch on top of the master cylinder. Cheers Barry

The telltale light MUST have the right symbol not just a light, it's the one with the circle with 2 outer half circles & an apostrophe.
There must also be a label on/near the M/C stating what fluid type it takes.
Sorry if this is egg sucking, but worth a mention.

Definitely worth noticing... The Gillingham guy mentioned it to me when i SVA'd... so he's gonna pick it up on IVA !!!

Photos of the standard sierra switch - both loose and attached to the h/b - only slight snag is I think I have ground off the bit where the switch
used to be fastened to - but its not the greatest brain teaser? Look in my 'handbrake' file in my archive as well.

Thanks Steve. The handbrake looks exactly the same as mine (strangely enough). I will set about looking for a switch now.
Thanks again.
