steering column

The first steerign wheel I'm putting in my car will be the ford sierra donor column I got as part fo the kit (money is a bit tight). It has had most stuff stripped off it except for the horn wires and ignition switch. So looks very bare and a bit crap to be honest.

Does anyone have any ideas on makign this look tidy for while it is in? small column of black Vinyl covered foam??? bespoke fibreglass shell?

Upper column mount is an ally cast block with bearing inside. I moved switch to dash and had the ali bit turned and polished (Mac#1 did it for me). All switch gear is on dash. Not as convenient to operate but looks a whole load better.
