I have been there and made the mistakes... What ECU are you planning on using? If you are going aftermarket you need to choose carefully, I'm on my second system, the first couldn't run it. You can also make some simple mods to the intake system to get free BHP & torque increases.

Planning to use megasquirt. I am not sure if I will keep the secondaries at this point. It is possible to do so but......

I also have the st220 UIM, LIM and the 3.0L TB. further I plan to use the ordinary flywheel (mondeo v6).

reg,

Ditch the secondaries, on comparative rolling roads it made more bhp and torque without them throughout the rev range.

The ST220 manifolds aren't a direct fit as standard, but i think the st200 will go straight on.

I'm running Emerald, but i'm sure the guys on here will be able to help with the Megasquirt if you need it.

hi looks good
thay are a good old engine i helped my mate build one a year or so back to fit in his juno tr SS3 race car
we used the 3.0 v6 from the jag but near on the same motor , ported heads big cams and big pistons difrent rods runing 6 jenvey throtttle bodies it runs 400hp so you should have fun in a seven.
any way he is selling the MBE ecu that is on the car at the mo and the wiring loome for it as it nolonger meets the requires for the juno as we have just fitted flat shifter and air powered padles shift gear change and the MBE dose not have the facility with in its mapping ability if you are intrested in it let me no and ill give him your number

Major...

Looks like an interesting build.

Absolutely love the wheels - what are they?

One observation - your track rod arms appear to be at a rther odd angle in the photos. Maybe the angle of the camera or maybe the rack isn't in it's final position?

I noticed the same re track rod arms, maybe the track rod ends are just dropped in the top of the hub instead of from underneath. I did the same while my car was in early rolling road stages.

Questions for Major & grazzledazzle:

I have a Jaguar V6 3.0L (ex auto s-type) I have also aquired a Getrag 221 gearbox.

I need manual flywheel/clutch - are there any other choices than s-type jaguar - other ford models? Is there a spacer plate between engine & gbox?

All advice on ECU , manifolds , ignition & fueling very welcome
cheers

The wheels are 15X7 OZ rallye from approx 1988, refurbed. You can still buy the 14inch and the 16 inch new. I did not find the 15inch new, so I went for used without the decals as you can see.

The rods, like Bob mentioned, easy fix.

Between the gearbox and the engine, you have a alu dustplate, not a spacer. An expensive one +/- 170 euro new. No idea what they cost in the UK. The 3.0l uses a dual mass flywheel + matching clutch. I am using the mondeo one, Not sure if it will work.
