Zetec sump removal???

How in the name of holy hell do you get the sump of off a zetec motor??
Undid the all the bolts (that I can see), and its dropped mayby about 10-15mm but wont come any futher, its hitting something hard? Ive removed the flywheel and that didnt help?
Ive given up for the moment, as I was about to seriously damage the engine/myself/the first thing I came accross in the workshop
I know ive missed something small, but I just cant see what it is??
Ive spent the last 3/4hour looking through and searching the forum and cant find anyone else having this problem, which does not fill me with confidence...

Cheers in advance guys

Its a pain in the butt,

Its catching on the oil pick up pipe which is only part plastic so you need to be careful. You need to take of the lower portion of the sump of first which will allow you to get to the 2 alan bolts to remove the pick up pipe then the rest will come off.

Good luck mine was a bugger, i ended up snapping the pick up pipe but i was shortening it anyway so used my CVH pick up.

That's it, ali bit of the sump has a cast in girdle. You need to remove the metal pan and take the pickup pipe off.

My pick up pipe was all metall btw. No plastic in sight.

Good luck!

Cheers Guys!
Ive now undone all the bolts on the metal pan, but it also refuses to budge!!! LOL
It seems like someone has stuck it on with a black glue gasket of some sort?
This was meant to be the easy bit aswell LOL

The metal sump pan on a blacktop is 'glued' on with gasket sealant. I cut round mine carefully with a stanley knife before it came off.

I've had 3 blacktop motors apart now and all have metal pick up pipes.
