Wilwood Powerlite GROUP BUY

Just spoken to Rally Design, and they will offer a 20% discount on a group buy on the Wilwood Powerlite brake kits.

This works out at £193.60+vat, instead of the regular price of £242+vat.

Should you want them, grooved and drilled discs are an extra £26+vat.

Delivery is 9.50+vat to UK mainland.

The brake kits include calipers, solid discs and mounting brackets for either escort/cortina or sierra uprights.

To you wish to participate in the group buy, then please u2u me your name, email address and a contact telephone number. We will all need to order at around the same time, so once I've collected the details of those involved, I'll send the list to Rally Design, and get in touch with you so that you can then place your order as you would normally.

Pads are not included in the kit. Rally Design may also offer a discount on pads depending on the number of sets ordered, however this would only apply to the Wilwood smart pads and is not available on the Mintex ones.

Cheers,

Jek

A 20% discount on the rear Powerlite kit will be available if you order the front kit.

Thanks to those who have responded so far!

Hi Yodi,

The Powerlite kits come with brackets to fit either the Cortina/ Escort uprights or the Sierra ones, you just have to specify which one you want when you order.

The only thing that might be different is the thread on the inlet to the caliper meaning you could need to modify or change your flexible hoses. I'm afraid I'm not sure on the size of the inlet on either the M16 caliper or the Powerlite caliper, but RallyDesign I'm sure would be able to advise on that one. You can get them on 01227 792792.

Many thanks,

Jek

Hi Yodi,

What to do is call Rally Design to confirm the info you're after, then, if you decide you want to go ahead an enter the group buy, u2u me your name email and a contact number and I'll put you on the list.

Next week, I'll send the list of names off to Rally Design, and then get in touch with everyone in the Group Buy to let them know that they can then phone up and order, pay etc.

Cheers,

Jek

Hi Yodi,

If you could send me your details over the next day or two, I'll pass them on to rally design. You'll then have until the end of the month to phone up Rally Design to order/pay for your kit.

Many thanks,
Jek

Nice one Yodi, I ordered mine yesterday so hopefully they should arrive tomorrow.

As for the pads, I phoned Merlin Motorsport and Mintex to ask about a group discount on Mintex pads, but both were unable to beat Rally Design's price oddly enough!

PS Rally Design are keeping the offer open until the end of the month (monday) so if anyone else wants to join in, there's still time!

Hi Mike,

Spoke to Scott yesterday, and he mentioned someone else had joined in! My brakes should arrive today - can't wait, even though I have no car to bolt them to just yet!

I keep being tempted but the lack of dust seals puts me off.

How are people getting round this on road cars?

Hi Mike,

I was originally concerned by this too, but have since spoke to quite a few people who have been using powerlites on the road with no problems for a good few miles.

Mine have been on for over a year and not had any problems. Anytime I have the wheels (and time to spare) off I pop the pads out (seconds) pump the pistons out a bit and give them a wipe just to keep them clean.

My brakes arrived today!

I'm very pleased with how light they are, although I've noticed one problem - the caliper bolts which I removed from my Mk2 Escort uprights are a larger diameter from the ones supplied with the kit.

I think I remember hearing something about M16 callipers coming with either a metric or imperial sized mounting bolt. If this is the case, it looks like I've ordered the wrong bolts and mounting bracket? Anyone know if RD sell a mounting bracket for the uprights which use the larger bolt size?

I can always phone them on monday to confirm, but this is worrying me a bit!
