Gauges-- digital or bike set?

Hi all, is it best to fit digital spedo dial set or original zx9 gauges, if zx9 gauges how does the spedo work??

I tried to fit the original bike clocks from the ZZR1100 to mine, but the speedo was cable driven from the front wheel on the bike.

I tried to find a way of making it work, but couldn't. Closest I found was to buy the cheapest electronic speedo, take it out of the case and bodge it into the original case.

But at £100 odd for the cheapest speedo I just went for the VR2.

I fit zx9 clocks as did Mackei and I think MattC and lots more. Just easier. The clocks work off a pulse sent to them by a piece of metal moving past the original sensor. In this case I just placed the sencor next to the bolt heads on the prop. adapter. They do the job fine.
If that don't make sense can someone please translate. Too much beer
