Stuart Taylor Locoblade race car
An impending move means I need to sell my Locoblade race car and trailer
The car is a Stuart Taylor (chassis no 52) with a carbd 919cc Fireblade
engine, and was used for many years in the 750 Motor Club RGB (RoadGoing Bike-engined) Series in Class C. I bought the car a year ago and have since
spent lots of time transforming a tired race car into what she is now. I have plenty of representative laptimes if you are interested (please contact
me). A Pistonheads link with pics will follow shortly. Spec:
Stuart Taylor chassis with full FIA rollcage
Weight is 480kgs wet without driver cornerweighted by Procomp
New wings all round and nosecone over the winter
919cc Fireblade engine, rejetted, with TTS air filter. Oil/filter changed every 3hrs with Millers ZSS semi-synth, AB Performance shortened/baffled
sump (essential on these). Silicon hoses. NGK iridium plugs
Six-speed sequential gearbox with Quaife reverse box
Front: Cortina uprights with M16 calipers, grooved discs and GreenStuff pads
Rear: English non-LSD axle with Escort drums (shoes fitted last week)
Fibreglass seat with 6pt TRS belts, in date to 2012
Lifeline Zero 2000 fire extinguisher in date for servicing
RMD steering wheel on Q/R boss, SPA electronic OIL P/WATER T gauge
Adjustable brake bias
AMB260DP transponder hardwired
FIA rainlight
Geometry and setup checked and adjusted by Procomp (data sheets available)
AVO adjustable dampers, running 250lb front 150lb rear (shocks dynod and matched)
New track rod ends and suspension balljoints
New lights all round
Wheels and tyres:
o 4x Capri Laser alloys, Michelin 16/53/13 slicks
o 4x Capri Laser alloys, Michelin 16/53/13 Formula Renault wets
o 4x Capri Laser alloys, Yokohama A032R 185/60/13 S compound
o 2x Minilites with Yokohama A048R 185/60/14 M compound
o 2x A048R 185/60/13 M one on a Laser alloy, one without
o 4x Yokohama A021R (wet) 185/70/13 partworn with no wheels
I also have a massive pile of spares including a (damaged repairable) nosecone, a passenger seat and out-of-date harness for trackdays, 8ltrs of oil,
plugs, TREs and balljoints, fuel pump, ECU, coil, regulator/rectifier, lights, generator, wg stays etc that will be coming with the car. I will also
throw in a car cover.
The car is absolutely race-ready with many scrutineering tickets to prove it, and has been 100% reliable. I have used it in the RAF Motorsports
Association Race Challenge and Allcomers races, and the car was part of the class-winning team at last years Birkett Six-Hour Race at Silverstone.
The trailer is a Brian James Clubman 1600, 14ft by 6ft 1, currently downplated to 1300kg gross as I have a new style licence (old plate included, 2
minute swap). The trailer was fully serviced and rewired last winter, and comes fitted with a low level tyre rack for 6 wheels and a storage box for
jerrycans. I will throw in 3 ratchet straps and a clamp.
Serious buyers only please, no test pilots! Contact me to view or if you would like any further information; the car is located near Croft circuit in
North Yorkshire. The car by itself would be £5000 and the trailer £1000 I would sell both for £5800.

Anyone interested? Would make a cracking trackday package or a very cheap way into BEC racing... I tow this lot (well, not all the wheels/tyres at
once) behind a Skoda Octavia diesel with no issues at all

unfortunately I already have a stuart taylor car, but I would urge anybody who is looking for one to have a good look at this, £5800 with trailer and
wheels etc etc is an absolute and ridiculous bargain.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning

Would you swap for a road registered MK?!
Failing that, anyone want to buy mine, so I can buy this!

Thanks for the kind comments
Guinness, if you could pass the message on amongst the NE7ERs I would be grateful.
I love the car but can't justify keeping it, what with selling the house and being posted (I'm military)...

Well, I've finally got around to writing a decent advert and taking some better pictures!

If you're interested, come down to Silverstone on 24 October where my team (RAFMSA Help For Heroes) will be attempting to win the event for the
third year in a row
