I'l be coming and probably bring a couple of mates.

Insider tips on where to park/best spot, and how long it's likely to last?

Anything else you can tell a 'first timer' (ooh er missus)

Zilspeed takes FTD most Friday's

Tips - take a warm jacket and some decent walking boots. Food was pretty good last time with a burger van with cakes etc. Last time most of the hill was masked off for spectators, hopefully people can get down the hill a bit more and see more of the track this time.

Remember if you want the best possible view, why not offer to Marshall. People are always welcome and get a free lunch.

Parking - as you enter the track itself, just turn immediatley left and leave the car there. Parking isn't usually a problem unless you bring a trailer You are only 100 yards up the hill to the paddock.

Most people congregate on the last tight right hander between the rocks as you have an excellent vantage point and can see the clock as people pass over the line.

First practice is at 10:00am, if you are there 30mins or so earlier you can walk the track with some of the drivers which is always good for a laugh as we all chat about person x spinning there and person y almost ending up in the lake

115 cars are expected on the Sunday, so we might only get 4 runs possibly 5 runs, so I would expect lunch to be around 12:30ish and run to about 4-4:30. Things usually wrap up a little bit earlier on the Sunday.

We are all a friendly bunch, feel free to look out for the green MNR - no20 if you are lost.

Cheers
Paul.

Won't be making this one Paul but good luck and lets hope you can beat and lower the your class record.

By the way I fitted the new rear springs and they have made a lot of difference, thanks for the advice.

did you get the traction control working.

By coincidence I ended up speaking to your dad in the queue for the burger van.

Had to make an early exit so didn't get to see as many runs as I'd hoped, but was fun (if a tad windy!)

Cheers

Mark

traction control is still in development but hope to have it working before Golspie in a couple of weeks. It managed to enable itself even though the controller said it was off, which ruined my first run.

Windyburn says it all, it was not ideal conditions but the wind didnt affect me that much. The water across the start line made launches interesting and the other stream that lit up the back wheens going into 3rd was also a little bit exciting.

But the weekend turned out well, with my first win at Forrestburn and my first 46 second run. I am approaching the last hairpin so much faster now and didnt manage to get it right all weekend

Still a 10th or so off the record.

Cheers
Paul
