Ali side and flor panels

As the aluminium in 18swg (1.2mm) insn't aviable in my local area I was wondering if I could go to 1mm aluminium for the side and back panels or go for the 1.5mm?

Also I want to use aluminium for the floor. Is 2mm tick enough?

I have used 1.5mm for all expect floor (can't remeber what this is off hand). 1.5mm is a bit thick but I quite liked using it in the end.. Thinner will help keep the weight down.. Make sure you get the correct grade and get half hard if you go 1.5mm other wise it will be a pain to bend..

I intend to use the thin stuff I have (about 0.8-1.0mm thick). I am assuming it will be OK as the areas where it is not supported (i.e. between cross members) is quite small, and the Sikflex should help too.

i used 1.5mm 5000 grade for everything on my car and it was pig to bend round the back pannel. i had a dead arm for about 2days after bashing it round the tubes. i also had some very pissed off neighbours.

looks good now though as the extra thickness allows you to file out and polish up any little imperfections.
