windscreen replacement

my windscreen cracked

the problem is its glued to the alu frame with silicone - what will be the easiest way of getting the glass out without stuffing up the alu frame?

thanks in advance

You can get "silcone eater":-

But as ever, test on a small area first! Wouldn't want it to melt the frame too!

Yup. B+Q and screwfix both sell silicon remover. Whether it will "wick" between the glass and the frame is questionable. Otherwise it's a razor blade between the glass and frame....

I'd recommend a single-sided razor blade (arts and crafts shops will have them). Far safer!

Cheesewire will go through silicone very easily.

Imagine what it would be like if there were no hypothetical situations.
