Who has ever heard of a Porsche 904
How can I never have heard of a car this beautiful? Its so un-beetle like, more Italian than German styling?

Yes it was around about the same time as the Ferrari 250LM, Shelby Cobra Coupe and the first version of GT40
The 904 grew into the 906, 908 910 the fearsome 917

Crackin car. Porsche only lost the '0' when peugot through their teddy out the pram and won a legal claim that they owned the rights on
having a 0 in the middle.

To my mind one of the prettiest porches ever and would make a really nice and practical kit car if one could afford it - kits seem to cost 50thou

That is about all Peugeot have the rights to at the moment, a big fat '0'

I saw one sell at Bonhams Goodwood aution last year. I think it sold for £300K plus.

Sterling Moss drove one at Mosport in the 60's, I still have a picture of it, painted pale green, not quite as pale as UDT Laystall cars.
