No bids on the ebay one, get in there My BIL had a 1500 Riva estate. I fitted a door and welded the A post, sill and wing when it got hit by a
Granada. Not the best of project ideas Liam even for a street sleeper, it will still only be average with MX5 running gear.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Spose u've seen the one lotus did and put a twin cam fiat engine or something in. Supposed to have been £100,000 of work etc? It went well it
must be said.
Yeah replace the running gear with just about anything else and it would be a big improvement. Steering is an abomination and brakes and engine not
good either.

Now listen.
We all have funny moments when we say things we don't really mean, don't worry about it.
Have a glass of something pleasant, single malt or something like that. Relax, maybe read something. Go to bed, have a good nights sleep, you'll
feel better in the morning.
Did he really say LADA !!!!!!

20 years ago the owner of my local scrapyard had a lada running a tuned 2.0l lancia TC engine on dellortos. It was baby-poo beige and the only none
standard bits you could see were the wide wheels and if you looked close enough the roll cage.
That thing was such a laugh, the ultimate sleeper
Take no notice of the naysayers, sounds like fun to me

I like the idea Liam. Just use the bodyshell though even that is heavy for it's size. Seem to remember when they were new they advertised they
used a thicker grade of metal than everyone else. They must've been measuring the factory supplied rust. Have a look for the Lotus Lada on
utube. I think it was top gear. Though the version I found was in Russian. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just buy a FIAT Mirafiori and
put Lada badges on?

Well the basic suspension set-up is sound enough, double wishbones up front & a 4 link live axle at the back, but mabye it's not quite set
up right. Or mabye it's a lot not set up right?!
They are a heavy thing for their size.
The MX5 stuff would be overwhelmed I think, so flog that to someone as a donor package & fit this with something like the V6 from an Vauxhall
Omega?

Liam, i think you are thinking too far out. Think of what you see everyday that has a bad reputation. Mk3 fiesta, mk1 punto, mk3 fiesta . Now
imagine the most banged up fiesta you have ever seen but with mx5 running gear
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Lotus only changed springs, shocks, ride height(still way too high) and front geometry to sort the suspension on the riva they did.

My 1200 now has a Lada 1700 single point injection engine, 5 speed box and 3.9 diff, standard is 4.3 Cut Niva springs and bilstein shocks.
It has done two europe road trips, first Nurburgring, czech, france, back to 'ring then home. Second amsterdam, 'ring, switzerland,
italy(stelvio pass closed, do research next time) paris, home.

Another edit, yes the steering is utterly"!$%"£$^!$%"%^"!£$, worst thing about the car by far, long steering arms mean quick racks
aren't that quick and reduced steering lock, im looking for suitable racks and making new steering arms shortly.
