twin fuel rail setups?

im considdering a twin fuel rail set up, with the orignal zetec sandwich injector plate and the GSXR750 throttle bodies ones, ECU will be Emerald one, but wondering about fuel rail setup and return regulator, can i just Tee the twin fuel rails together on the flow and Tee the returns to a single regulator or do i need two? just wondering if with a single regulator the pressure will bypass the rail in use? assume the simular set up is used on V engine configerations? i know the answer could be why bother, but like to be bit different

With two fuel rails you connect them in series, i.e.
pump -> fuel rail 1 inlet
fuel rail 1 outlet -> fuel rail 2 inlet
fuel rail 2 outlet -> pressure regulator
pressure regulator -> return to tank

Note you only have one pressure regulator, which is fitted to the outlet of the last rail in the system.

Yep, that's correct, and the way most V engines do it.

I like this idea.

The GSXR fuel rail expects 43psi, the Ford one a bit more. I doubt that the GSXR one will leak, but I guess they will inject a bit more than it would normally.

Presumably you might get some of the standard "staged injection" benefit of doing this, and it saves plugging the holes!

Nice one,

Matt

what management are you running. on MS im sure you can switch between two sets of injectors dependant on throttle position and rpm ie
small ones for idle and cruise
big ones for wot acceleration
both for top speed

i looked at megasquirt, but to be fair im more mechanically minded than electronic so going the Emerald ECU route which does a 8 injector set up as Dave walker's workshop is only 10miles down the road.
emerald 8injector info
