Outside light and motion sensor
Here's the problem,
We have an outside light with an infra-red motion sensor attached, picks up movement, thats fine.
The problem is that it is located above an external vent from the heating system, meaning that if the the breeze is a certian direction, we get the
light flashing off/on. Annoying for us, the neighbors  and costing us money.
It is not really practical to divert the warm air vent in any way, so is there an alternative to infra red for motion sensing that anyone has come
across ?

We just have low level light on dusk till dawn to do away with the motion sensing.
Are you a Mac user or a retard?

You can buy separate sensors so that you can fix the sensor else where and leave the light where it is.

Best option is to use a well placed permenent light (or several of them to get coverage).
It's a better deterent and will actually cost less to run. Just make sure nothing is pointing into your neighbours windows and it should be
OK.
Part of my role in the Army was to do security audits and make recommendations (during peace time, anyay  ) and we always used to put peremnent
lights in place and get rid of the infra-red jobs where possible.

You could fit a separate sensor wired in to the existing light.
I find that these are more reliable anyway.
I have replaced my 500w bulb with a 300w and mounted the sensor under the gutter facing down.
The light is half way up the wall so it's easy to change the bulb.

I used a big son lamp housing removed the ballast thing used a 60watt es bulb and used the sensor from a 500w halogen mounted underneath cost me
nothing and saves a fortune compared to the old 500watt halogen
you could use a dusk till dawn sensor and an ordinary lamp or just move the sensor as above
