OT Coffee Machines
Bad day at work today - the coffee machine gave up the ghost
so guys recommend a coffee machine for me
the dead one is one of those simple ones that keeps a jug warm for as long as it lasts and makes about 4 or 5 mugs.
if the new one doesn't have a jug then it needs to be able to churn out mugs of coffee pretty quickly not one every 10 minutes.
Suggestions please gentlemen
Cheers
Mark

We have a coffee machine at work. After stumbling over the powdered milk ingredients one day during a refill, I swear it was slowly killing me.
Enough so that I've not used it for a year or so. (fats, saturated fats, compared to skimmed milk in instant coffee)

Just to be clear - I'm not talking about vending machines here - I'm talking proper coffee

We have one of those hot water urns and a big tin of coffee, doesn't take long as we never have to wait for the kettle to boil.
I have visited places that have upgraded the water coolers to ones that also have hot water, not sure if you've got a cooler though.

I've got a nespresso machine. It uses small capsules of coffee.
+side: good quality nice tasting coffee brewed fresh each time
-side: you have to buy the capsules over the net

My missus bought a TASSIMO machine from Sainburys using the Nectar card.
£117 and apparently the card never even noticed!!! How much does she spend at Sainsbury for the bl**dy card not to even notice £117 !!!!!
back on topic.......
The coffee is very nice and hot chocolate is excellent.
IMHO

I second the Tassimo, nice bit of kit, and the drinks are good. It does work pretty quick, so maybe a minute or two between cups. HTH Ray

Kettle, cheap asda coffee and one of those thermos mugs. Takes a few minutes to boil but each cup lasts an hour at least.
If you want it to boil quick get one of those Quick Cup kettles (I think it's Tefal) got one at home and it's great. Press the button and
hot water comes out, takes about 20 seconds a cup.

Another vote for the Gaggio.
Not got one myself but a friend has and it makes great coffee.
As for the Tefal Quikcup, had one for a short while and not that impressed.
It was alright for coffee if you don't hang around drinking it. But a waste of
time for tea. Nowhere near hot enough.

Nespresso and a couple of old fashioned cafatieres. The Nespresso works out at about 15p per cup with the capsules but I really don't think
that anything can beat the cafatiere.
You can also get decaf that still gives you that great coffee taste without being hyperactive

Good old Aldi never fails .. if they've got some left!
Coffee Machine with Bean Grinder
Its even got a timer so you can walk into work to the smell of fresh coffee, can grind beans or filter coffer (with papers or an included washable
filter) and does about 12 cups at once.
Not sure how well it would stand upto lots of abuse, but it does have a 3 year warrenty.

And if you go to Gaggia's UK distributor website you can find 'reconditioned' models at hugely reduced prices. I'm fairly sure
that 'reconditioned' means ex-display, damaged packaging, etc as they all look to be latest models in as-new condition (I've seen
them in a Gaggia shop.)
