It annoys me too, especially as I try my very best to turn up on time if I have an appointment...

It's like waiting for a parcel delivery - "will be delivered sometime between 08:00 and 18:00" is no use to me whatsoever...

Then pay extra for a delivery service that allows you to specify the time slot....

exactly, and they always turn up in the 10 minutes you go out to get some milk from the shop
and they don't deliver on weekends, when most people aren't at work, and here, if you have to go collect the parcel, its a 60-80 mile round trip depending on which courier it is...

saying that, i think i want a job with DHL and the like...

We use DPD couriers ship 20+ per day, we provide DPD with the customers email address, they email them with a time slot of 1 hour when to expect delivery and links to change the time and date if required.

Its a great system, costs us no extra and customers love it, copied below straight from our screen current situation of a few deliveries.

I arrange appointments at work.

We give them 9-12.00 or 1.00 to 4.00.

I think that's very fair compared to a lot of the instances quoted above.
We still get people asking us to narrow it down.

DHL no longer have a domestic parcel service in the UK....
They sold the whole bang shoot to HDNL and just use the brand. The other news is that all the couriers will be casual and they will have their own vans.......
