Stiff hinges

I want to fit a couple of wind deflectors to the uprights of my windscreen to reduce the turbulence that whistles round the side of the screen - A bit like you see on Cobras.

The plastic bit is easy enough, but I was wondering where people had got the "stiff hinges" that allow the deflectors to be moved, but keep them in position when in use.

Alternatively, is it possible to get hinges that can be fixed/tightened once they are in the right position?

Cant you use normal hinges with the pins, and then replace the pin with a small bolt to tighten i up?

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I got some plastic friction hinges from RS components for mine, they were fine and allowed you to adjust the friction. There's plenty out there.

"real" friction hinges are available from Europa Spares, but only with Cobra-style wind deflectors attached... here

Mine don't use any hinges, I made my deflectors by heating the Lexan and bending in a sheet metal bender . Too tight to buy hinges

I was wondering what you were on about - now I understand!

You were thinking of using them as springs to keep the hinge joints tight, I presume...
