anyone into boats?
having just come back from de-winterising my boat in anglesey i was wondering if anyone else on here is in to boats?
blooming good fun on a hot summers day to blast around the coast with some poor victim on the inflatable ring behind being flung around at insane
speeds

Yeah, do a fair bit of messing about in boats.
No power boat of my own yet, although my housemate has a salcombe flyer rib with a performance 90 yam on the back. Its not new or huge but its fairly
tidy and does move. (actually, previously owned by the md of salcombe flyers and a promotional boat that was competitive in the 90hp
champtionships)
I also sail dingys (Uncals RS200 and our Topaz) mainly over summer, in salcombe.
But mainly tied up with narrowboating at the moment, both with my grandads narrowboat (steam powered) and with a load of freinds on a collection of
historic working boats. I also help found the YWBS, a gruop of young people intersted in workingboats
What do you have?

Used to be (in quite a big way), but the sailing type. Not quite the peaked cap and pipe sort though (my last 3 included an International Moth and an
International 14 - Have a search on Google for these)

i have a boat...
its 8ft long and has a 1hp outboard...
i have an old oar too, but thats enough about the wife.....
just because you are a character, doesnt mean you have character....
for all your bespoke parts, ali welding, waterjet, laser, folding, turning, milling, composite work, spraying, anodising and cad drawing....

Yes, but the sailing type. Don't have my own but but crew for mates, and charter for the family holiday. Going to St Vincent and the Grenadines
to sail a 40' Cat' for two weeks for our second honeymoon (25th anniversary) in August.

Trying to get back into boats.
Kid's almost old enough now.
Bought this (before kids) Ring20 and Suzuki DT 200 new in 1988 but in a sorry state now.
Needs some TLC, may be next year

i am into boats and jetskis, got rid off my dads boat to make way for the kit car, and a new jetski.
black mk indy, 1.6pinto on cbr600 bike carb's.

I like boats. I have lived on a couple of Dutch barges and now have a Contessa 26 on the Dart. Off to Greece next week on a charter. Can't wait.

I used to do a fair bit of dinghy sailing and still have an rs600 on the drive (which is for sale at the moment). Currently more into rowing than
sailing and hoping to do Henley in a couple of months 
We used to have a Zodiac 4.9m RIB with mercury 75 on the back for the odd blat places and waterskiing, power boats get boring fairly quickly though
unless being used for a purpose.

Just got a 16ft Fletcher in a sorry state, to have a play at doing up.
I also want to build a hydroplane if possible before I time out.
For anyone thinking of launching from Bull Bay on Anglesey....don't.
The tossers building the new slipway/sea wall are running about 5/6 weeks behind schedule. Probably because the have; 3, 2, 1, 0 men on site at any
one time.
I will post on here when it's open again.

Parents used to half 7.5 metre rib with a 200hp evinrude. It was a hell of a lot of fun on the open seas. We were often the only ones out there!
We did our RYA level 2 in it and you could barely see over the swell, great boat.

I built a Plymouth Pilot 18' from a bare hull as a teenager, I have a 14' speedboat hull and now looking for a buggered jetski to combine
with a small diesel to make something unusual. I also have a canoe in the garden supporting a whole microenvironment!
In my teens and early 20's I used to borrow big grey boats from the government and then play with all the attached toys and guns.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Used to water ski most summer weekends behind my 15' Shakespeare with Suz 75 but
not for a few years now.
Boat's sat in a mates garden hiding in the very long grass 
Dug the monoski out last year after an offer of a tow and was chuffed to still get up first
time. Couldn't lift my arms the next day though

Couple of years ago I had 14ft simms with inboard mexico engine hooked up to a jet unit-then got into jet-skis.Used to run on 60 acre private loch in
SW Scotland till mate got divorced and had to sell farm! happy days tho!

Love boats. This was half mine moored at Conwy till children and business stopped play a couple of years ago. 21ft Cobalt, 5ltr V8, duo prop. Bit
compromised as a wakeboard boat but it made up for that in flexibility (sea manners). Happy days.
