Avon ordered

Hello,

Just wanted to let people know that I have recently ordered the chassis package and expect to start my build in July.

Wondered if anybody else building (an Avon) is anywhere near me (Fleet, Hampshire).

Cheers,

David.

Best of luck. built mine and on the road for 2 years. Enjoyed building it. had to have a few thinks though. Have a look at as many build photos as you can find. They provided me with a lot of answers. Also ask questions on here, someone always knows the answer.

An Avon is something you build, not something that you put together.
Every builder has found some different solutions for the problems they came across.
So every Tiger is unique

Thanks all for the replies and advice. Hopefully I will collect my chassis, etc. from Tiger in early July. I will no doubt be back on the forum with questions after that.

Regarding engines, does anybody have anything particular advice for or against the Zetec 1.8 and 2.0?

David.

Will certainly try this month. The meet last month was on my wife's birthday. Try as I might, I couldn't get her to go to Farnham!

you are in the right place, people in this forum are very helpful and smart, I find the solution at all my answer here. About engine I build my avon with 1.8 silver top with ford ecu and now I am running with 2.0 (I saved the 1.8 flywell lighter) they are both very powerful for a light car (I registered mine as a 1.8 for the insurance and tax costs) . If engine come from a mondeo like mine you will need a escort water pump becouse escort pump turn clokwise and mondeo anticlok.
Ciao Rudy

Sorry about my English

Thanks for the reply. I am some way off being ready for the engine - just doing a bit of homework now and then keeping my eye open for suitable engines for sale.

If you can find a suitable sierra donor get it ASAP and start stripping! keep as many parts as you can reasonably store. I was amazed at how much i re-used... even down to using the door trim rubbers as edge padding on my dash under the vinyl!

I took a drive round my nearest council estate until i saw a likely donor sat in someones garden, knocked on the dorr and bought it for £40! bargain

Welcome and enjoy your build. As the others have said, if you have a question the answer is on here somewhere
