1600 CVH Engine Mounts
Does anyone know of a supplier that can provide engine mounts that will allow a 1600 CVH to slip into a locost? Alternatively, has anyone made their
own and have detailed drawings knocking round?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris.

I've always wondered about the situation with a transverse block and mounting it longitudinal.
From what I remember from the crossflow powered fiesta's the situation was that there was no threaded lugs on the side of the engine on one
side to actually attach a mount. I thought the same was true of the cvh, the only alternative was to get a cvh from a sierra.
If someone would like to enlighten me on how it can be done that would be great (Not sure if i remember someone posting that on some blocks the lugs
are cast but not threaded and need tapping)
Sorry it does'nt answer the question but its reminded me of a question i've been meaning to find the answer to for a while
Cheers

I used to have a 1600cvh Escort but I can't remember if there are bosses, but I have heard of using alternator mounts and gearbox bellhousing
points to fix brackets to.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

More or less the same as those required for A Zetec, some drilling and tapping required - quite easy as the bosses exist but aren't the same as
the Sierra --- I have a url for a drawing stashed away somewhere.

I fitted a 1300cvh engine to my car when first building it.I used a L shaped bracket fitted between the altenator mount and block on one side and made
a mounting out of box section to attach to the top of the block on the original front mounting.
Both mounting brackets fitted to a fiesta gearbox mounts attached to the chassis, and retained the alternator in original position.
On the 1300 block there are no cast in bosses to drill and tap.
I now have a crossflow fitted but still have the mounts .

Paul,
That had crossed my mind. Were there any ill effects to the alternator?
Cheers,
Chris.

I never actually started the engine as i got a 1600 crossflow to use in its place, however the only difference to the alternator was that it was the
thickness of the bracket [8mm] further from the block.
If i get time over the next few days i will try and post a couple of photos.
