Ah, the Midget was a ringer, shouldn't have thrown it out so soon Not sure it qualifies as a car, anyway.

I've been looking at cars I remembered as being atrocious, but the loving restorers trick them out so that they look pretty good!

Keep 'em coming, gents.

You may never see one of these things. It's a sort of bizarre cross between a Lotus Elan (thats the back bit you can't really see here) and a duck billed platypus (thats the front bit). The rear section is built in Tipton and the front in Malta. Destined to sell in single numbers..... (according to several e-mails from Finland, 'Kamala' happens to mean 'hideous' in Finnish!)

If anyone's selling any of these there may be a demand, but only if worn

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

This gets my vote, the Hustler, I believe designed by William Towns of Jaguar fame.

well, everyones different but.....

I think the green thing if it wasnt green might be ok - it kinda looks like a car I saw a year or so ago at a show called a reynart.....

The dax kamala, in my view, is a really great looking car. didnt top gear or a motoring prog have one on test once?

I like it.

The only ugly kit car I can think of - and its not notably ugly - is the big luego thing - the orange object at the top of the page.

and....there was a kit called a mini scamp 30 or so years back - basically looked like a popemobile - a welded tube frame with the gaps filled in with metal at the bottom and glass at the top

In fac the hustler looks a fair bit like it, but better

atb

Dyer mean Ronart Steve? They used to buil'em in Peterborough and damned nice they were too. The 'green thing' is a Moss Monaco, once described in a Kit Car magazine guide to the industry as a 'pop-eyed GRP oil drum on wheels', pretty accurate if you ask me

One of the TV motor mags tested it a while back, Cossie YB motor 'n all and liked it. Me? I look at it, just get to the point where I think I might start to like it..................................then don't.

Wasn't that basically a kit-form Mini Moke? In which case,it was not ugly, it was 'retro' and 'cool'

Actually looking at it against some of the others cars in this post the Fastcat starts to look quite appealing! Maybe it's not the worst after all!

I actually like the six wheeler Hustler but can't remember it being for sale as a kit. The popeyed oildrum looks like a kid drew it out and somebody made an exact copy. The Onyx Fastcat wins as they are serious and ought to know better. The Tiffany Pete, I thought all American cars looked like that .
