Sylva Phoenix 2008 for sale
Sylva Phoenix.
Please have a look at the following links for details of build and recent photos:
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Taracutchey/SylvaPhoenix#
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/johnsphoenix/Introduction.html
This was used as the display car on the JPSC stand at the Exeter kit car show in 2007 and 2008.
I bought the car from the builder without an engine in it.
I have installed a 1.8 k-series running on throttle bodies.
It is taxed until March 2011 and it does not need an MOT until 2011.
The car is built to a very high standard as can be seen in the build photos.
Emerald K3 ECU
Innovate LC-1 lambda sensor.
Caterham Supersport Cams.
Vernier pulleys.
Throttle bodies
Wilwood calipers at the front.
Disc breaks and 3.62 LSD at the back.
4 point harnesses.
Fully adjustable Spax all round.
Very good tread on T1-Rs.
Two toneau covers, one for use while driving and one for use when parked.
Stainless steel boot rack with specially made cases which strap to the sides of it. This is removable.
Spare matching alloy wheel and tyre.
£5000
If you are interested then please come and have a look. The car is in Malvern.
Cheers
Andrew

That looks like a hell of a bargain for someone. Wish I had the space (and the redies).
I've posted a link on both the JPSC forum and the sylva list. Hope you don't mind.

John Bonnett the original builder made it. He was a member on her but he hasn't posted for a while that I've seen. I kind of copied his
rack when I made mine.

Just like the rest of the car it is very well built. John is a retired engineer and spent over 1000 hours building the Phoenix.

Roughly 160 bhp.
Revs are limited to 7800.
0 - 60 is 5 seconds with just the driver. This can be varified by using the data logger on the Emerald.
With a change of cams, ported head and a change to DTH ITBs 180 - 200 bhp would be possible.
But current set up is ample for road use.

Malvern is 10 minutes from J7 on the M5 in Worcestershire.
We have just moved house and this is the only reason for the sale as we have gone from having a double garage to having none at all.
I updated my profile on PH it hasn't altered the advert?!?

You could have a chat with Cross Roads Garage, Subaru dealer over here at Halford. They might sell it on commission for you.
They are petrol heads with wealthy clients and do like to put an interesting sports car in their showroom amongst the new Subarus.
I bet it would get £10,000+ if you're not in a rush.
I strongly recommend it...

Good news Andrew. Someone's got themselves a bargain. Has it gone to anyone in the JPSCC?

The car has gone up to Preston. I do not know if the new owner is part of the JPSC.
I let it go for 4500 so it was definitely a bargain!
Funnily enough this was the same price that I sold my Tiger Cat for and in comparison the Tiger was absolutely rubbish.
Anyone thinking of buying a kit definitely go for a Sylva derived car over a Tiger one, no comparison.
I'll turn off the light as I leave.
Bye Bye
