ok, in that case, i would wait until they arrive and then drill the holes, just to be sure.

5.5 and 6.5 would be clearance size for 5mm and 6mm screws not rivnuts.

Rivnut holes need to be bigger, as above.

7.2 for 5mm

9.6 for 6mm

Different brands of rivnuts warrant different holes drilled I'm afraid...

The current batch I've got require:

5mm = 7.1mm hole
6mm = 9.6mm hole

And, as above, I too didn't think it was a stupid question, although I think the answer of 5.5 and 6.5 is a stupid answer..........

I didnt say it was a stupid question, rather i asked if it was a serious one. Suggest you read thoroughly before trying to assassinate someone. In my second post, i said that i would wait for the rivnuts to arrive before drilling.

Wasnt you that was playing the asshole to speedy was it? Or is this normal behaviour for you on a wednesday evening?

From Car Builders Solutions -

"Here are the drill sizes for the rivnuts supplied with the kits.
Please check the size of any additional rivnuts purchased
because different manufacturers may differ slightly.
STEEL: M8 - 11mm, M6 - 9mm, M5 - 7mm, M4 - 6mm, M3
- 4.6mm
ALUMINIUM: M6 - 9mm, M5 - 7mm, M4 - 6mm,
M3 - 5mm "

Cheers for the replies. Was just after an idea of the sizes so I could *ahem* procure the drills from work tomorrow

I wasn't going to be drilling any holes intil they had arrived.

My ali M6 rivnuts require 8.8mm holes. Hole size is obviously crucial, so suggest measuring your 'nuts once they arrive, as above...

Nothing as exciting as that. Just repositioning/changing the rear exhaust mounting bracket as mkII suggested
