Bloody crank pulleys
Its only been on for 4 months, but do you think i can get it to come off?
Its loose on the crank nose, i can just move it, but it just will not pull off.
I cant get a puller behind it as its too close to the front cover of the engine....
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a bad design to me 
Bit of split thin bar slid behind the pulley with a couple of small hoops welded to it for the pullers legs to fit into??
Bigger hammer??
Cut it off and make another ??
Bit of a bugger though mate!

Quiet obviously the car doesn't want to leave home. Tell it you have changed your mind and it can stay - then the pulley should fall off.

drill and tap a couple of holes in it then make a puller using two boltsinto the tapped holes and a big one into the centre.
I could draw a diagram but I'm sure a man of your abilty can work it out from that

4 strips of 6mm x 25mm flat bar
socket to fit on the crank
1 strong length of box
2 G clamps
2 more hands at least the above is a guide but you need these at least
arrange the flat bar in to a box shape
socket on the crank with the box section on it clamp the flat bar to the box so as to pull the two strips behind the pulley
I tapped mine with a hammer as i increased the tension
have fun

If it is stuck due to galling you have a nasty job on your hands. Try some heat maybe.

The front pulley on my ca18det always stick on just like that. Loose but it sticks as soon as you move it.
Wd40 and a prybar behind it at oppsites and gently wiggle it - too much force and it locks solid!
You've probably tried that!

Is it a multigroove pulley? you can get a puller that grips onto the grooves , we have one at work for removing said pulleys,. You may be able to
borrow/hire one locally ?

An air chisel with a blunt bit will move most things without significant damage, failing an air chisel an sds drill on stationary hammer is a good
second. Seriously vibration is your friend (as well as your wifes! ) make use of it & you will be amazed!

Is the woodruff key rising up and locking it ?
I had that happen on a jag engine, and we slid a very fine screw driver up the slot, to help. and the crank pully slid of easily
If not, cut the f*****r off !!

Thanks for the advice chaps. Will make up a puller later today and see if I can get it off that way. I dont really want to get into spending a fortune
on a polyvee pulley puller.
The clearance to the front of the engine is exactly the same as it would be with the standard pulley. Only difference is the std pulley isnt keyed so
can be twisted and pulled off quite easily. I can just about get a piece of 3mm plate behind it.

Made a special puller with thin legs to go behind the pulley and it came off nice and easy

The old cams are all out now, and its ready to put the new ones in. They havent arrived yet, so I will phone Raceline on monday morning to see what
