Apple TV

Anyone got it?

I see it's down to £99 now... worthwhile?

I'm not sure TV is worth £99 at all is it?

Take a careful look at the "on-costs" before you buy in.

Apple have some very clever business models, that mostly involve you paying for stuff. This isn't necessarily bad as the quality of Apple stuff is good, but you will find yourself paying for more stuff than you expected. Worth checking it gives you what you want. I have a nice PVR on Freeview which I really like and the only cost was the purchase price (tvonics), made in Wales (centre of the electronic universe!).

Matt

p.s. it is also a misnomer, as you don't get a TV just a little box that plugs into your TV.

Cheers Matt... I would just want it to stream content from my Mac to my TV wirelessly.

I wouldn't go mad on renting films, etc.

I have it and I think it's great, more convenient than hooking up the pc to the tv. I have the older style 160gb version and it's got my whole music and photo library on it with a few movies to boot. The bonus being I can have the MacBook elsewhere and still have access to everything at home.
At £99 it's a bargain compared to the previous version and does just the same job!!!!
Go for it!!

Ta Kev!

Does it allow me to use my TV as a monitor when using the computer... I would quite fancy being able to sit on the couch with the wireless keyboard on my lap!

I had the old version which got nicked!

At the end of the month I'll def be buying it. I spoke with apple who have said that I can stream from my iMac, iPad and can control it from iPad and iPhone. ( yes I am a true apple geek). Although it doesn't have a hard drive it will stream your photos whilst playing music from iTunes. Which was the only reason I purchased the old one.

Pete.
