Zx6r carbs

Hi all. After some help.

Final fitting of the fuel pipes to the carbs. From the tank to mechanical fuel pump is is 8mm. Then from pump to carb is the problem. The pump outlet is 8mm as expected but the carb is about 6.5 to 7mm.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just a case of doing up the jubilee clip tight?

Any experiences, views, thoughts and pictures all welcome

Thanks

Steve

Wonder if you can get a fuel filter with diffent sized ends that could act as a reducer?? Just a thought.

Cheers

Running a 2.0 pinto. Standard cam.

What problems are likely to appear?

If using the Pinto pump the fuel pressure will be too high. Get an electric bike fuel pump - ideally from a ZX6, but most bike carb pumps work at similar pressures so will work fine.

BTW I have ZX6 carbs on my Zetec and they are great.

Stu is spot on dont bother with a regulator just fit a bike pump ie zx6r / zx9r
they deliver the fuel at the right pressure for the carbs
I have a filter before the pump and after the pump just before carbs

Thanks guys. Some good advise.

Jacko, why 2 filters?

Where in the system do you fit the pump? Near the tank at the back or in the front nearer the carbs?

Pump at rear the pumps push better then pull
I have seen them at the front before so may be ok

2 Filters first to stop crap out the tank no2 to stop what the first missed
i just use them cheep inline filters and change them every year

To attach pipes of different sizes use CBS inline pipe reducers, they do a range of different sizes.

Thanks for the advise guys. Looks like a swap to a bike pump, which isn't too bad as cost is about the same as a regulator for mechanical pump. If anyone has any pics or diagrams that would be great.

Cheers
