I like the fact that it's on the bedside cabinet

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Look at the scoring of the internal lobes. My guess is the engine has blown and the pump has been attempting to pump a mixture of oil and metal.

Technical term for this is Gubbed

You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a chainsaw

Hi guys the pump is mine, and i am not sure what you mean by scoring? I have seen dry sump pumps after a blow up and trust me this is not one!

Theres no teeth missing or cracked/damaged so not sure why you say that??

Hi. There was another view on the listing which looked down through the ports and scoring could be seen on the lobes. This is usually caused by a engine failure of some sort.

In my case it was a specialist front casing becoming porus, the roller tappets seized, the cams spalded, with all the debris being pumped through the engine.

Pump lobes looked just like that view I saw on ebay afterwards.

The casing supplier was a gentleman and replaced all the damaged components (cams, followers, pump, bearings and tappets aside from the casing!!) at his cost although I had the hastle of hauling the engine out and rebuilding it.

Cheers

David

Ouch! That is not a nice story!

There is some small marks but they don't appear to be more than just wear marks, it turns freely enough?
