Laptops
A friend of mine has to dispose of some laptops for work as all the reps are having a laptop up-grade.
Spec:
IBM T42 Thinkpad
Pentium M 1.7GHz CPU
512MB RAM
40GB HDD
Built in WIFI
DVD/CDRW (Read DVD and Write CD's)
2 USB 2.0 Ports
Radeon 735 Graphics Card with 64MB RAM
Parallel Port for older printers
S-VHS
14.1" XGA LCD Screen
Antivirus Loaded
Fully Internet Ready
Microsoft Windows XP Pro Installed and configured
He is looking for £70 per unit (that's to me and of course the same to fellow Locosters) plus postage at cost.
At this price, no warranty, all tested prior to posting.
You pays your money, you takes your choice.

T42 are rock solid laptops, had one a few years ago.
They don't look deadly modern and bling but ooze build quality (IMO)
Thats a good price, asssume the RAM could be upgraded,
I might be interested.

UPDATE:
Re: RAM upgrade. They are up-gradeable. T42 Memory Upgrade In Stock, buy 1Gb DDR2 @ £12.69, from MrMemory.co.uk Free Delivery .
Further info. The units do NOT come with a carry case. Sorry.
At this point in time the amount I can get is limited because some power supplies seem to have disappeared. Initially he had 30 or so units to dispose
of.
So it is first come first served. So I will offer them in order of requests received.
He hopes to sort the PSU problem. I will keep you posted.
I should be able to sort out those that have already ordered/expressed interest.
If the lack of carry case is a problem, please let me know so that I can offer it to someone else.
I will advise everyone as soon as I can get my grubby little mits on them and sort the postage costs.

News Flash:
The power supply issue has been sorted, so I am led to believe.
As soon as I get my hands on one to weigh and sort the postage cost, I will post the total price on here.
I will send them signed for. Do you want insurance on them for the paid amount or replacement value?
The snow that all you lucky people are having isn't helping at the moment.
Wish we could have some, it looks very pretty.

Spoke to my mate today.
He thinks he may have enough to supply everyone that has expressed interest.
He will sort them sometime this week. (God willin' an' t' creek don't rise).

LAPTOP UPDATE:
Spoke to my mate tonight. The lappies are there but there is a hitch, albeit a temperary one.
The guy who gives the final OK to release them is "Currently too busy to be bothered about a few laptops at present", because of a major
upheaval in the company.
I am sorry guys, but it looks like we are all going to be disappointed this week.
All I can say is that as soon as he can get them, he will.
They are in safe storage, until an OK to release them comes through.
My mate is going to try to expedite matters to the best of his abilities.
I can only apologise again if this causes anyone problems. It has stuffed me up a treat, as I wanted two for Xmas prezzies.
I will of course let everyone know, as soon as I hear anything at all.

Sincere apologies for the delay and lack of info guys.
The combination of his workload, the weather and the festive season all coming mopre or less together, have caused the delay.
I am informed that I should have them in my grubby mits sometime next week.
I will up-date the situation as soon as I have them, as I do not want to say they will be here on such a date, then have them not turn up.
I feel a big enough muppet as it is, but it is totally out of my hands until they arrive here.
I can then get one packed and weighed , to get a shipping price.
