Race simulator

Hi.

What do you think about this race drive simulator? It's more a cockpit simulator, since I came up with an idea of trying to reproduce the "in-car" feeling, being surrounded by a "rollcage". Maybe a few tweeks on the rear, with a small arch will make it more complete... Anyway, comments are welcome.

Looks great nice job.

My only comment on the use of it as a for sale item is adjustability I would make the seat, pedals and wheel all adjustable.

if you were thinking of selling them I would be very interested.

your competition for well made products is slim and the ones that are well made are extremely expensive.

Ive wanted something like that for ages however I would like to see adjustable everything on the thing (seat, wheel and pedals) but i would like the monitor stand to be strong enough to take some serious weight (as in 3 32" lcd on a bracket attached to the current monitor stand). it may already be strong enough.

but seriously if your thinking of selling them in current form i would still be very interested. I could probably do the above myself.

looks awesome

Mike

Thank you for posting the pics the correct way...

Regarding the simulator, I'm in fact considering the idea of producing it...

To give you some info, the one you are watching is a prototype, and next models will feature some small changes. At the moment, all parts are adjustable.
I'm 1,87Mt high and I can easily play on it. I've made a few tests, using smaller guys, and one with 1,45mt, could use it very well!

Anyway, I'm going to fit under the Sparco seat, a OMP seat slide kit, making the adjusting a lot quicker and simple.

It's a great idea. In fact I have plans to make one myself, and kept my Mondeo seats for that purpose, and will use 25mm box section for the frame because after all it is locost. might even put the locost dash and nosecone on it if I don't get much further building the car. The main problem with such systems is most steering wheel mechanisms are not precise enough and I'm better at every racing game I've got with the keyboard than with the two admittedly cheap wheels I've got though I don't suppose you'll be supplying these anyway.
One thing to consider is that anyone likely to buy and use such a setup is more likely to be an adult than a child. Also for eg. my eldest son is six feet tall with size twelve feet at thirteen years old so I'd suggest you make it comfortable for someone of at least that size = approx 180 cm in European.
Given that I can't see somebody buying that and then only putting a normal pc monitor on it, I think your screen is too far forward. Make it so it's okay for 40-50 inch tv's. If you're going to market this also it will have to flat-pack. Therefore it'll need to bolt together otherwise transporting it is too difficult/expensive.
Also don't replicate the legs out straight driving position of something like a locost because it's not very comfortabe. You could consider a deluxe version with drinks holder, ashtray and cigarette lighter.
